Should mayoral hopeful Marty Small still roll out the 'Small Ball'?
Published: Jan 02, 2009

Issue: Councilman Marty Small has all but formally announced his candidacy for mayor. But Small is receiving some scrutiny for his plan to still hold his annual "Small Ball" later this month, a celebration that has caused some controversy in the past. One of the councilman's previous events went south after unruly crowds attracted police who cut the night short.

Question: Is it politically saavy for Small to proceed with the event or should he put it off while seeking the city's highest office?

Please leave your comments below, take the poll above, or both.

Atlantic City Boards / Race and the Race

Issue: Many believe the Democratic mayoral primary will weigh heavily on race in the run-up to the June election between Mayor Scott Evans (white), former Mayor Lorenzo Langford (black) and Assistant Business Administrator Domenic Cappella (white). Others say its insulting to assume voters would be that superficial.

Question: How big of a role will race play in the upcoming primary election? Will voters vote on the issues or cast their ballots based on race?
